Symptom explorer
What’s your AC telling you?
Select a symptom to learn more and get helpful information before you book a service call.
Warm air from your vents?
A failed capacitor, refrigerant leak, or outdoor-unit problem can leave your AC running without cooling. We diagnose the actual cause rather than simply recharging the system.
Little or no air coming through?
A clogged filter, a frozen coil, or a failing blower motor can restrict airflow. Start with the filter and thermostat checks below; call if the problem continues.
A new hum, grind, or squeal?
New noises can come from a condenser fan, capacitor, compressor, or air-handler motor. If the outdoor unit hums but its fan isn’t turning, turn the system off and call.
Ice on your AC lines?
Ice can point to low refrigerant, restricted airflow, or a blower problem. Turn the cooling system off and call. Running it while frozen can damage the compressor.
Water, repeated stops, or nonstop running?
Water around the indoor unit can mean a clogged drain or cracked pan. Short cycling and constant running can involve refrigerant, electrical, or sizing problems. A breaker that trips repeatedly needs a diagnosis; don’t keep resetting it.
What we repair
Small part. Big difference.
Repair—or time to replace?
Get your cool back.
From worn components to complex issues, we diagnose and repair what’s keeping you from staying comfortable.
A younger system with one failed component often makes sense to repair. Age, repeated breakdowns, a failed compressor, or older R-22 equipment can make replacement worth considering. We explain both options, including a heat pump that cools and heats.
Electrical & controls
Capacitors, contactors, electrical faults, control boards, thermostat wiring, and compressor diagnosis and repair.
Airflow & drainage
Blower and condenser fan motors, clogged condensate drains, and the airflow problems that can freeze a system.
Refrigerant & coils
Refrigerant leak detection, repair and recharge, plus evaporator and condenser coil repairs.
Our process
No guesswork. Just a clear plan.
A straightforward repair visit, so you always know what’s happening with your AC.
Diagnose
We check the thermostat, indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant pressures, and electrical components to find the cause.
Explain & price
We explain what’s wrong, discuss your options, and give you the price before any work starts.
Repair
With your approval, we make the repair and test the system. Many common repairs can be completed that visit when the part is available.
Quick checks
Before you book.
Try these simple checks. They can sometimes save you a service call.
If the outdoor fan isn’t turning or you see ice on the lines, turn the system off and call. Don’t open equipment panels or keep resetting a tripping breaker.
Check your thermostat
Make sure it’s set to Cool and a few degrees below the room temperature. Replace the batteries if the display is blank or dim.
Look at the air filter
A gray, matted filter can restrict airflow enough to freeze the coil. Replace a dirty filter with the correct size for your system.
Check the power setting
Check whether the AC or air-handler breaker is off. If a breaker trips repeatedly, leave the system off and call. Don’t remove covers or touch wiring.
Give the outdoor unit space
Clear leaves, grass clippings, and objects stacked against the unit without opening the equipment or reaching inside.
Look for standing water
A backed-up condensate drain can trigger a float switch and shut the system off. Water in the drain pan is a reason to call for service.
Upfront clarity
Know the price. Then decide.
The same symptom can have very different causes. We see the system, diagnose the issue, and explain your options before quoting the repair.
We explain your options and the price before any work begins, so you can decide what’s right for your home.
Parts & refrigerant
A capacitor is a different repair from a compressor or coil. Leak location, refrigerant type, and the amount needed also affect the work.
Access & complexity
Air handlers in tight attics or crawl spaces can take more time to work on.
Warranty & timing
Manufacturer parts coverage may lower your cost. After-hours service carries an additional fee, confirmed before the visit.

FAQ
Good questions. Straight answers.
Helpful information before your AC repair visit.
Why is my AC blowing warm air?
The most common causes are a failed capacitor, a tripped breaker or disconnect, a dirty or frozen coil, or low refrigerant from a leak. If the outdoor fan isn't running, turn the system off and call us. Running it can damage the compressor.
Do you offer emergency AC repair?
We offer limited after-hours emergency service. Call (704) 901-6554 and we'll respond as soon as we're available. After-hours calls carry an additional service fee, which we confirm on the phone first.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
If the system is relatively young and the problem is a single part, repair is usually the better value. If it's older, uses R-22 refrigerant, needs a compressor or keeps breaking down, replacement often costs less over time. We'll walk you through both options.
How much does AC repair cost in Charlotte?
It depends on what failed and the parts involved. A capacitor is a very different repair from a compressor. We diagnose the problem first and give you the price before any work starts.
How long does a refrigerant leak repair take?
Finding the leak is often the longest part. Some leaks are repaired in a single visit; others, like a leaking evaporator coil, may need a replacement part ordered. We'll tell you what we find and how long the fix will take before we start.
